Returning to Learning

Returning to Learning (R2L) has been funded by the Vale of Glamorgan.

Based at 79, High Street, Barry, R2L offers a wide range of courses for people who want

to improve their chance of finding work and improve their independence skills.

Group sizes are small with a maximum of 4 people. Morning sessions run from 9.30 - 12.00

and afternoon sessions from 1.00 - 3.30pm.

We are offering 3 new ASDAN courses: Personal and Social Development (PSD),

Personal Progress (PP) and Employability.

PSD is an Entry level 1-3 qualification with a clear progression from Entry 3 to Level 1.

It embraces personal, social, health, citizenship and ITC, together with skills which prepare

the learner for independence and working life. This course is aimed at people with a mild

 to moderate learning disability.

The Entry 1 qualification in Personal Progress is made up of units in these areas:

Personal Development, Functional skills and Vocational/Work Skills.

Progression is available to Entry level 2. This course is for people with

severe learning disabilities and complex needs.

The Employability qualification helps students to improve their knowledge and

understanding of the workplace. It is a progression from Workright, the programme

used at Nova and is available at Entry 2, 3 and Levels 1-3.
